Guardian Tree Services is a looking for a manager to help launch the company for a 2018 start. We are looking for an Arborist who can still perform the on site work, but wants to phase into more of a management role over the next couple of seasons as the company grows. We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive minded individual who can achieve goals and grow with the company in the years to come. The ideal candidates should have three-five years experience with advanced knowledge and practice in climbing, cabling and use of both basic and specialized grounds equipment. Also, knowledge and experience with the following services: • Tree trimming, removal and bracing • Tree planting, mulching • Tree fertilization, pest management • Herbaceous plant and tree knowledge The ideal candidate should have a reasonable amount of mechanical knowledge and experience working with the following equipment: • Bucket truck and backyard lifts • Stump grinders and knucklebooms • Chippers and driving trucks and trailers • Tree sprayers and fertilizer rigs • Chainsaws and other power tools • Daily maintenance routines. The ideal candidate should have some or all of the following education and training: • Class 5 drivers license • First aid, working at heights, WHMIS training • Chainsaw certificate • I.S.A. certification or willingness to obtain it • Pesticide license or willingness to obtain it The following duties and responsibilities of the day-to-day operation include: • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the company • Meet and educate customers, provide exceptional customer service • Prepare proposals, bids, estimates and quotes in a timely fashion • Perform on-site site as well as office work. Time management/ self management will be an absolute requirement • Hire, train and develop staff • Oversee COR certified safety program, including hazard assessments, job logs etc. • Equipment maintenance and equipment logs • Prepare presentations as necessary for owners • Issue purchase orders and contracts to suppliers and sub-contractors • Manage and direct operational schedule of work orders • Coordinate with office on issuing invoices, expense reports, employee information etc. Training opportunities with company education program, growth potential, Health spending account, and competitive wages/salary are all part of the package for the right individual with the right experience and certifications.
