Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as technical advisor for Customer Service to improve specialists’ knowledge and skillset as it relates to our core products and services. Develop and implement training assessments to ensure new hire orientation milestones are met and retained.
  • Provide new product training support for all Sales and Customer Service employees; external partners as needed. Participate in Vermeer training events with NATS and other training entities.
  • Develop and implement tracking and testing to ensure new product training is successful and retained by participants.
  • Provide support (modeling and production) of product informational videos for employee training, website and social media efforts.
  • Support walk in customer traffic including but not limited to Q&A and sales.
  • Support the customer Special-Order request process by reviewing customer submissions, generate pricing and work with other internal Departments to ensure customer order has been executed.
  • Product warranties – evaluate product(s) returned for warranty claims. Ensure items that can be resold are properly and promptly returned to inventory. Ensure faulty product(s) are field destroyed. Use and share findings with internal team and suppliers to reduce claims.
  • Responsible for communication to the external and internal sales teams with new item introductions, dropped items, running changes, and promo/showcase products. Detailed email first of each month to internal and external sales teams.
  • Work with Marketing / eCommerce and Sales team to co-facilitate regular new product introduction meetings.
  • Participate in lifestyle photo shoots; directing, staging and sometimes as the spokesperson to support
  • Support Marketing team with copywriting (online, print, social media, other) to support sales initiatives
  • Review online and print pieces for content (copy, images, etc.) to ensure accuracy and promote customer engagement.
  • Responsible for inspection and replenishment of NATS/Vermeer Seminar kits
  • Create budget for travel and expenses including sample budget and Seminar kit budget
  • Execute creation of SWAG kit and /or prize kits for training events.
  • Support and attend trade shows, seminars and other events to promote the sale of Sherrill, Inc. products and services as needed.


  • Must be an active climber with knowledge of basic and advanced techniques and safety requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of basic tree care applications and tree care tools is a must.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have demonstrated strong relationship building and networking skills in a prior role.
  • PC skills and a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications a must, NetSuite ERP familiarity is a plus.
  • Prior experience working directly with 3rd party suppliers and vendors is a plus.
  • Multi-tasking skills required – with excellent attention to detail.

  • Willingness to travel domestically for site reviews and venue set up – up to 45 days/year
