Do you have experience operating aerial lift trucks, chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, and other small equipment used in arboriculture? Longwood Gardens is seeking a full-time Arborist to join our team of experienced Arborists in maintaining a magnificent collection of historic trees including 63 champion trees, the largest number of champion trees in Pennsylvania. This position is responsible for applying proper pruning techniques, executing removals and practicing all aspects of tree care as outlined in the ANSI A300 standards while complying with ANSI Z133 safety protocols.
Minimum qualifications include an Associates degree or higher in Forestry or a similar field, a minimum of 3 years climbing experience as an Arborist, and a strong knowledge of plant health care. The preferred candidate will be ISA certified and we also provide support for an uncertified candidate to obtain ISA certification with the expectation that this be completed within the first year. Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written, and general computer literacy including knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word). Candidates must have or be willing to obtain a Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicator License and Pennsylvania CDL Class B driver’s license within 6 months of employment.
