Course information:

Capilano is a private, 18 hole facility located in beautiful West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  Constructed in 1938 by esteemed Canadian golf course architect Stanley Thompson, Capilano is continually ranked in the top 10 golf courses in Canada and top 100 in the world outside the United States.  Capilano is open for play year round, with the vast majority of the 30,000 rounds/year played between April and October.  Capilano is committed to continually restoring and improving the golf course.  In addition to the course’s long range master plan, the club has invested heavily in Course & Grounds staff facilities including a new administration building and fleet maintenance facility. 


Post-secondary degree or diploma in a field related to arboriculture or forestry.  ISA certification and/or the ability to climb without spurs are benefits but not necessarily required.  Being organized and a team player is most imperative.

Position overview:    

This individual will be responsible for carrying out a wide variety of arboriculture related activities to ensure the health of the more than 20,000 trees spread over 165 acres.  Activities will include, but are not limited to; species identification, assessing tree health and risk, removing, pruning, thinning, limbing, planting, equipment and PPE maintenance, managing contractors and working within and managing a tree management plan.
