Job Details
Inventory, inspect, and assess trees across Peterborough's urban forest. Contribute to the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of urban forestry strategies, including plans, programs, bylaws, policies, and procedures. Support the research, analysis, and advancement of technical urban forestry methods and best practices. Collaborate with the Urban Forest Program Manager on various urban forestry initiatives, providing expertise, training, and public education to promote sustainable urban forest management.
Please Note: This is a temporary full-time contract, up to 2 years
(approximately February 2025 to February 2027).
Qualifications

Familiarity with municipal tree by-laws, provincial, and federal legislation, including Forestry Act & Invasive Species Act.

Tools, equipment, and safe work practices in arboriculture.

Proven ability to interpret drawings and plans related to tree management in development projects.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
In addition, the incumbent must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position and have daily access to reliable transportation to carry out the requirements at work sites and meetings .
Salary
$70,980 - $74,510
