Job Description

Hi there

We - Seil und Beil Baumarbeiten - are a small treecare-crew doing treeclimbing only in Trier, located in the western parts of Germany, close to Luxembourg. You'll get all the company details down here at the end or on instagram @seilundbeil

We are looking for an experienced climber to join the team. One of our international guest-climbers will be leaving end of March, his position is vacant. You can either do parttime or fulltime, work&travel, temporary work visa...whatever suits your plans best. All details can be discussed once we are in contact. We have experience with non-German guys joining the crew for some years and are happy for any international exchange. For EU-citizens the administration to get you started is very easy, for non-EU I'd need to consult the acocuting guys for each individual case to figure out the details. We already had arborists from the US; Israel, Croatia, ireland, the UK, Finland, Denmark, Slovakia, Netherlands, Chile and France joining the crew - so theres some experience on our side to get you a smooth transition and a warm welcome :-)

What we are looking for:

  • experienced climber, trained and skilled in all aspects of proper professional treecare. We are a kind-of "climbing only"-company, we hardly use a boom truck. You need to be fit in climbing - SRT, dDRT, spikes.
  • skilled in proper treecare, how to prune, maintain, and cut trees of all sizes and species
  • skilled in removal on spikes / spurs as well as technical rigging
  • ISA-certification, EuropeanTreeWorker,... would be very beneficial, not mandatory
  • driving licence
  • fluent in English or German.
  • fill a position as lead climber, which means you would be in the trees 3-5 days a week, depending on the scheduled jobs (and your commitment in workhours of course)
  • job available from spring 2025 onwards
  • no cowboys, no machos, no "I have the bigger balls here"-attitude. We try to have a low hierarchy and professional and safe work place.
  • no contract climbing for now. We have a really nice and established network of helping contract climbers :-)

  •

What we offer:

  • the complete range of treecare and treework, from prunig tiny fruit trees to reduction of oaks, bigger technical removal, tree inspection..you name it we do it
  • no hedges, no landscaping, treeclimbing only
  • full PPE, pretty high standard on safe work environement, professional (but fun) crew and work. We do wear helmets and chainsawpants / boots all time when operating a saw - no excuses
  • nice crew of 9, all easy guys / girls, no cowboys, no machos. All more on the left side of society. Nice mix of beginners and experienced arborists, all passionate about the job.
  • International crew (at the moment German-Croatian-USAmerican-UK-Chilean-Mix)
  • competitive wages with full benefits: full healthcare, bonuses, paid sick leave and paid holidays
  • salary depending on skills and working-contract, plus 28 paid days off (fulltime)

Who we are:

We are small professional treecare business. We focus on treeclimbing jobs only and value high skills in proper treecare and arborist practice. I'm more than happy to answer any additonal questions. You get some insight on instagram @seilundbeil

We are a crew of 9 in total, 3 trucks, 2 chippers, mixed genders. Most of the time we work on a two-team-schedule, but do bigger jobsite with the fullcrew on site. We do residential and municipal tree work 5 days a week. We only do trees, no hedges, no landscaping. We do climb every day, hardly any platform/boomtruck work. We speak english and german. We can provide any equipment except your own basic PPE. If you prefer a fresh set of PPE we can provide it though. Ropes, helmets, saws can all be provided of course. We run the husky T540ixp and the Stihl MSA161 in the trees, Stihl fuel saws on the ground.

We have a nice crew, we have a ping pong table, a firepit and good times :-)

Thanks a lot, hope to hear from you,

Marwin
