About the Position:
Sedgwick Land and Limb is looking for an experienced Tree Climber to join our growing tree care team. We are looking for someone who already has a strong foundation in professional tree climbing and wants to continue developing their skills and career in arboriculture.
The ideal candidate should be able to identify common tree species and recognize defects or signs of decline that may affect climbing and work-site safety; safely climb and work using SRS and MRS (DdRT) systems; and competently operate chainsaws and other cutting equipment while aloft.
You should have a solid understanding of proper pruning and removal techniques, rigging systems, load control, and cutting techniques necessary to safely and accurately lower or direct limbs and wood while protecting structures, landscapes, equipment, and the ground crew.
Experience with advanced rigging techniques, speed lines, aerial lifts, cranes, or other specialized tree-care equipment is highly valued.

About you:
We are looking for someone who:
• Has at least two years of professional tree-climbing experience and can demonstrate the skills necessary to safely perform climbing, pruning, rigging, and removal operations.
• Has a valid driver's license in good standing and reliable transportation to and from work.
• Understands that production matters, but never at the expense of safe work practices or unnecessary damage to trees or property.
• Has the physical ability to perform demanding arboricultural work throughout the day, including lifting and handling loads of up to 80 pounds.
• Can safely maneuver trailers and towed equipment in tight residential and urban environments.
• Communicates effectively with the ground crew and understands the importance of teamwork during climbing and rigging operations.
• Is looking for long-term employment and wants to continue developing professionally.
• Has a checking account for direct deposit.
• Owns and can use an iPhone or Android smartphone for work-related applications and communication.
We Love It When We See
• ISA Certified Arborist or other ISA credentials
• CDL Class A or B
• Formal climbing, rigging, chainsaw, aerial rescue, or tree-care safety training
• Experience operating aerial lifts and other tree-care equipment
