White Glove Tree Services is looking for an able-bodied, motivated, and knowledgeable tree climber. Requirements include significant experience as a climber and crew leader, proven experience with tree biology, familiarity with common insects and diseases, and exceptional customer service skills. Understanding of related forestry by-laws and guidelines are an asset. We strive to incorporate a symbiotic work dynamic among staff, with a strong emphasis on communication and safety. You must be a hard-working, adaptable, proactive, and enthusiastic individual. Although we understand the need for a stable routine, the nature of the work requires you to be flexible with your work hours.
Specific duties:
- Safely climb trees, using a rope and harness, or climb ladders to gain access to work areas.
- Pruning, trimming and shaping trees and shrubs for profit
- Cutting out dead, low hanging and undesirable limbs
- Selective cutting to prevent interference with buildings and utilities
- Sectional or clear felling and tree removal/rigging
- Stump removal
- Firewood processing
- Grounds man duties
- Hedge reduction and hedge trimming
- Operating a chainsaw, chipper, stump grinder, wood splitter, and other machinery
- Maintaining tools and machinery
- Tree planting
- Have a valid G drivers license, with clean abstract
